Only one roofer has bothered to follow up in a timely manner - I get an acceptable vibe from him and I can afford him, therefore he will be getting my business.

I'm taking a shot at another cooking contest.  Pizza.  For a chance at a $10k prize, I can spend some time doing something I like doing anyway.  First run on the recipe went well - I need to pre-cook the crust a bit more but am pleased with it.  The sauce is a keeper.  The homemade pork-and-pear sausage is good but needs some tweaking.

Family traumas made last week far more interesting than it needed to be.  How I adore each family member's personally handcrafted non-coping whenever Mom shows signs of not living forever with stage 4 cancer.  Oy.  Too many phone calls.  A few days later when it seemed the excitement had passed and Mom was back to sewing and baking, I took a Benadryl and went to bed.

At work, we have officially been re-screwed:  some idiot (I strongly suspect the person I call "idiot boss") signed a SoW that the consultants have suddenly decided to adhere to - meaning we are again being shut out of all decisions and KT, reversing all the gains we made over the last year.  Boss-of-boss-of-boss came by today to... tell stories about himself?  feed us platitudes?  Anyway, what he didn't do was give us any sense that we'll ever be allowed to crawl out of this pit.  It's too bad - I'd finally gotten to the point where I rather liked my job, and some days had a real sense of hope for our future.  Now I'll have to reconsider that all over again.

Homemade boar-and-pear sausage!
That's an amazing accomplishment all by itself. Good luck on the contest.

Friending welcome, but lurking is fine too.

Constructive criticism is also welcome - whatever it is, trust me, I've heard worse.
