whirlwind tour

I tried making kale chips.  They tasted fine, but the process is wasted on baby kale:  they look like something that's been left on the dock too long, and have the texture of tissue paper.  I'll wait for the big leaves for making more chips.

Then it was a rushed trip through the 'Tosa bead store, to pick up some more bits for Mom's necklace.  I got there 15 minutes before close, which prevented me from looking around much.  Probably a good thing.

Then on to a birthday party for a friend's daughter - one year old.  I managed to arrive just in time for birthday cake, but I didn't linger (it was a mostly-family party, but I wanted to pop in as I haven't seen the friend in over a year).

Then on to Z's.  I gave her kale chips, and a TV for her security cams; she gave me deer bones, and a dress from Goodwill that I can use as parts for the next steampunk outfit.  We had dinner at Singha Thai (salmon choo-chee, pattaya shrimp, and Thai iced tea).  Then we took the dog for a walk...happy happy dog.

Tomorrow (well, today...), I should do at least a little yardwork.  It's cold and wet, but the bed along the NW lot line should be cleaned up before the neighbors get tetchy.  And I should make food for the first part of the workweek.  The plan is spinach&onion pie, baked red beans, and ginger&garlic carrots.
Friending welcome, but lurking is fine too.

Constructive criticism is also welcome - whatever it is, trust me, I've heard worse.
