happiness

Every once in a while - rarely - there's one of those moments where you're just purely at peace with the world:  a time when you feel that, if humanity was able to generate such a moment of clarity and potential insight, then maybe its history of horrid stumbling about is not so entirely worthless.

For me, one of those moments was a recent episode of Science Friday.  People getting together and sharing knowledge back and forth, eagerly and without any kind of angry defense of one position or another.

YMMV, of course.  But here's the episode:
http://www.sciencefriday.com/about/listen/, under 'recent episodes' it's "SciFri 040811 Hour 2: The Intersection of Art and Science".

It starts a little slow, but I was intrigued by the idea of Herzog on a science show, and I'm glad I kept listening.

It also has a good Feynman quote:  "science is imagination in a straightjacket".
Friending welcome, but lurking is fine too.

Constructive criticism is also welcome - whatever it is, trust me, I've heard worse.
