time to kana

It occurs to me that in the old days I would have used an outrageously fancy bread machine with a Japanese-only manual as an excuse to learn to read a little Japanese....

So, likely there's an outrageously fancy bread machine in my future.  Not just yet, though, as I've been more spendy than usual lately and should do the needful first:  property taxes, new kitchen sink and filtration system, car maintenance, maybe a little non-emergency surgery....

Taking the weekend off to go to Z's and to Spring Green Art Fair.
Maybe also chicken store (Z's got the itch).

Except that I think I'll need to start harvesting mulberries and sour cherries this weekend.  And peas.  And pit/shell, cook, eat...maybe Z and K can help out with that bit.

The most recent escapee from work left all his cubicle toys in a box in the breakroom.  The disk gun was popular.  I ended up with a promotional Vertex stress ball (the tax software I used to support), a Mr. Beaver figurine from a happy meal, and a plastic harmonica from one of the company pep rallies.  (Because "blow me" is such a good theme for a pep rally....)  One of the very few pluses of the company's money troubles is that they can no longer afford to do not-mandatory-but-you'd-better-go pep rallies.

I've been looking at that bread machine a lot. Man, that's sweet.

Friending welcome, but lurking is fine too.

Constructive criticism is also welcome - whatever it is, trust me, I've heard worse.
