tonight's therapy cooking

Red lentil, yellow tomato, and roasted beet curry (with sweet onion, mango powder, ground celery seed, salt, fenugreek, ancho powder, the juice of one blood orange, and Penzey's Balti seasoning).
Pork with kale and dried sour cherries (onion, allspice, Caribbean salsa, salt, balsamic vinegar).
Brown basmati rice with shredded beet greens (and fenugreek and salt).

It's all weird and good.  There's room for improvement, but currently it's really working for me.
It's tasting so good to me that I might go back for a second helping, instead of breaking into that container of Ben&Jerry's Clusterfluff.

I did use the rice trick of adding the water to the rice and then letting it soak while I got everything else half-made.  Then cooking it takes less time, and the rice grains don't stick together so much. 
Friending welcome, but lurking is fine too.

Constructive criticism is also welcome - whatever it is, trust me, I've heard worse.
